Go for a fish barbeque at Echo beach from 6pm, only 2 meters from the Indian Ocean, you won’t regret it. We also suggest you not to choose the last tables on the big swell days, a word to the wise is enough ????

Lastly, those looking for some romance can contemplate a beautiful sunset from a picnic bed where an aphrodisiac dinner will be served. Lovebirds, don’t forget to book your 18th-century antique bed, illuminated by oil lanterns and a red, dusky sky, solo on a private beach.

Canggu Nightlife

You had a great day and it’s time for the crowning touch. Canggu hosts the best live bands gigs of the island so far. Take some good rest on Monday night because the schedule of all the other nights is pretty busy!

If you are more of the musician type, head to Pretty Poison on Tuesday for the open mic session, you’ll meet the local skateboarding scene in a youthful punky atmosphere. On Thursday and Saturday nights, skateboarding and unusual cocktails are here to distract you.

Oldman’s parties on Wednesday and Friday nights are the most popular in the area: By the end of Batu Bolong road, a cosmopolite night, all type of music, food, beers and so on: the place to be (live music on Fridays).

We can’t talk about Canggu’s nightlife without mentioning DEUS, the temple of enthusiasm. Live band every Sunday, great vibe, incredible place. All Canggu is heading there. Saturday nights are quieter, acoustic music and chill in the fat boys.

Unfortunately, all these places are closing by 1am, but don’t worry, the sand bar at Echo beach is open every single night, to make your party till dawn.

Less renown and more typical, many places to chill in small bars like the Q-Garage or the RezzMatazz where there is live band several times a week, where you will meet more locals.

Chill at one of Canggu’s beach Club

You must know that Bali is famed for its beach clubs, and if you haven’t read our top 50 best beach clubs of Bali, here are some of the ones you must visit in Canggu.

You will be happy to hear that the famous Finns beach club, world-famous surf beach clubs seating on top of the Uluwatu cliff has just opened its new beach club facing the beach of Berawa, also with light spots allowing night surf session and good vibes.

The Lawn @ Echo Beach has it all. With its laidback vibe, hammocks, big pillows sitting in the sand, a swing to make perfect pictures and videos over the sunset, you will understand why it is a family favourite.

Canggu  Ride a custom bike

Canggu is well known worldwide for its surf and bike lifestyle.  From the famous’ Deus, Malamadre and Bad Boy Bikes to the small local garages, everyone is customizing bikes in here. You can find a bike on one of the many shops on Batu Bolong. Rent it for a day or buy it for a lifetime, riding a custom bike in Canggu must be on your Bali bucket list, in a place where Jap style and Café-Racers share the throne.

Go for a surf

Canggu might be the trendiest surf destination on the island, along with the Bukit Peninsula where is the mythical wave of Uluwatu.

Canggu caters to all kind of surfers from long and smooth wave for longboarders and beginners at Batu Bolong beach (in front of Old Mans). While Echo beach is probably the best option for skilled surfers, you’ll find there a typical Balinese barreling left on a shallow reef, a rippable right-hander and beach breaks barrels on its best days in between.

Not to be forgotten, Berawa beach offers two nice right handers on a reef. You’ll find good waves around with any swell conditions, which makes Canggu area a dream for surfers. A dream you’ll have to share with all the surfers around, which makes catching a wave sometimes a bit tricky.

You can rent a board in small shops on all these beaches.

One of the things that I really like about Canggu is the bohemian culture. As you explore Canggu you can find plenty of murals on the walls and in the cafes and restaurants. The mural at the Old’s man bar is one of my favorites. You can also find murals towards Berawa and on the way to Old’s Man Surf spot. Some of the murals are quite funky, others are a bit more difficult to understand.
